Rescue/Grant Recipient Highlight – Brukner Nature Center

The Troy, Ohio nature center offers wildlife encounters and educational opportunities to all of those who seek to understand, appreciate and better protect our animal friends.
Dogs on Deployment – Providing Care for Military Pets When Duty Calls
People in the military who have pets can face some pet care challenges when they need to be away for months or even years at a time. If care cannot be found, sometimes these military members have no other choice but to surrender their beloved pets to shelters. Dogs on Deployment (DoD), a national 501(c)3 founded in 2011, has been working to match military cats and dogs with temporary care provided by a national network of volunteer pet care providers. Learn more about DoD and how OAF board member April Tully became involved with the program.
