This month, we’re featuring Ohio Animal Foundation (OAF) board member Bethany Cady. Bethany joined the OAF board in February, 2024, and serves on the grants committee.

Why did you join the OAF board?

I joined the OAF board because of my deep passion for animal welfare and advocacy. OAF’s dedication to education, outreach, and community engagement aligns perfectly with my values, and I am excited to further support the organization’s mission.

What do you like most about being an OAF board member?

I like the variety of initiatives we lead. From the pet food drive to funding diverse grants, there’s always something new going on to keep things interesting and serve different groups.

Tell us more about yourself!

Professionally, I am an Analytics Director at Everest Insurance with experience elevating Fortune 100 financial services. I live in Worthington with my husband of five years, Erik. We love exploring Columbus!

How many pets do you have? Tell us all about them!

I have a dog (Chloe) and a cat (Cooper) who are both two years old and are roughly the same size. They spend all day wrestling and playing with each other. We call them the Nub Club because they both are missing their tail.

What is your ideal vacation?

I love to travel and spend time planning trips I may or may not ever take! I prefer a vacation destination to be somewhere I haven’t been before and like to have one or two activities planned for each day. Active trips are my favorite, whether that’s going out and finding new food or hiking a new trail.

We know you love animals, but what else do you do for fun?

I spend most of my time running with my dog, reading, crafting/crocheting, and tending to my garden in the summer. I also love trying new hobbies and am always on the hunt for intro lessons in sports or art media I haven’t done before.
